History of The Healing Light Reiki Training Center - Awakening the Light Within

For more than three decades, Lisa StarAhna—affectionately known to her students as “Star”—has been a guiding light in the world of energy healing. Often called a “Goddess of Light” for her ability to awaken spiritual connection and personal empowerment, Lisa has inspired thousands of students and clients across America to reclaim their inner strength and rediscover their purpose.
Her journey began not in a classroom, but with a natural, intuitive calling. From a very young age, Star felt drawn to the mysteries of health, energy, and the human spirit. Her intuition and psychic sensitivity grew stronger with time, leading her to stand boldly in her truth as a natural healer. In 1988, she opened her first Wellness Clinic, offering holistic health services long before “energy medicine” became a household term. Her pioneering approach made her one of Utah’s earliest voices for New Age healing and mind-body wellness.


Transformation Through Tragedy

In 2001, Star’s path took a profound and heartbreaking turn with the loss of her oldest son at age 19, followed one year later by the passing of his father. The emotional aftershocks of grief, addiction, and depression rippled through her family—and yet, from this darkness, she discovered an even deeper understanding of healing.
This personal transformation became the foundation for her life’s work. Star learned firsthand the importance of gathering the broken pieces of the soul, reclaiming one’s personal power, and opening the heart once more to love. Today, she shares these lessons with others who are navigating their own seasons of loss, illness, or emotional struggle. Her journey allows her to meet her students and clients with deep compassion, authenticity, and wisdom born from experience.

Over the next several decades, Star continued to study, practice, and teach a wide variety of healing modalities, developing a uniquely integrative approach to holistic health. Her professional toolkit includes:

In time, her passion and experience naturally evolved into the creation of Healing Light Reiki Training Center—a sacred space where students can learn, heal, and grow in a relaxed, supportive environment.

A Center for Growth and Certification

Today, Healing Light Training Center offers both in-person Reiki classes in Utah and live online Reiki training accessible nationwide. Students can begin with Usui Holy Fire III Reiki Levels I & II, continue on to Reiki Master Certification, or explore specialized workshops in Sound Healing, Drum Circles, and Chakra Balancing.
As a Licensed Teacher and Mentor with the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT), Lisa StarAhna maintains the highest professional standards in her courses. Her classes are known for being fun, safe, and powerfully healing—a space where everyone, from curious beginners to seasoned practitioners, can awaken their gifts and reconnect with their divine essence.
